On this December 3, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we would like to share with you our ambitions in terms of disability.

Did you know?

Disability affects one billion people worldwide, around 15% of the population, and 80% of them are of working age. At some point in our lives, each and every one of us may be affected by disability.

That's why we've joined forces with the VIVESCIA Group to develop an approach to disability that raises awareness, recruits and integrates, supports and anticipates.

This day is also an opportunity to report on the initiatives of the various BUs:

Diamalteria's commitment to disability

  • Successful recruitment of two people with disabilities, bringing the total number of employees to 5.08%.
  • Partnership with Wamba Ets, a remarkable organization dedicated to supporting children with spinal muscular atrophy. This year, our holiday panettone purchases will support their significant efforts.
  • Support for “Camminando Si Può”, a non-competitive walking event on September 22, 2024, aimed at raising awareness of mental illness and reducing social stigma.

Raising awareness through pastries in Australia

In Australia, delicious muffins, made by talented artisans (with disabilities) from Baked by Us and Hungry Hamish, were offered to employees. These culinary creations highlight the potential and creativity of people with disabilities. This prompts us to reflect on the importance of inclusion and valuing individual skills, while supporting companies that promote the autonomy and social integration of people with disabilities.

Inclusion is a daily effort, let's continue to work together!
